Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, Baltimore/Washington, DC, USA
Tony Hawk's Halfpipe stands four stories tall and sends you flying
down one side of its "ramp" to the other at speeds of up to 23 mph. Ride alone or grab a friend. Experience on water what skateboarders experience on dry land: zero gravity!
As you barrel down one part of the ramp toward the other end, you'll experience the sensation that speed and your own weight may
possibly carry you over the edge! The frictionless surface helps create
a free-fall effect as you slip and slide forward and in reverse, up and down the U-shaped "slide with no sides". But just before cresting over the edge, water spray jets actually push the tube forward as you continue to "skate" — aka "slide" — to the bottom.
"We are ecstatic to be adding Tony Hawk's Halfpipe to our already stellar water park lineup," said Six Flags America park president, Terry Prather. "This is a water ride that teens, tweens and parents alike can enjoy."
